A story
Hôtel Baumanière en Provence
Perched in the heart of the most admirable country imaginable, halfway between the lands of Cézanne and Van Gogh, Picasso’s férias and the Roman monasteries, not far from the mossy fountains in the shade of the plane trees, the cypress avenues and the odoriferous trees, this place is a unique haven of peace away from the eyes, adopted by a host of artists and fashionable people (Elizabeth of England, San Antonio, Jean Reno, Bono, Hugh Grant, Pierre Arditi, Mireille Darc… ).
It is a little corner of paradise in one of the most beautiful villages in France, Les Baux de Provence, a place steeped in history from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
Baumanière hotel thus embodies a legend on the fringe of life, wide open to the exceptional nature of the Alpilles in Provence.
« A story of men, place and passion »
At Baumanière, “passion” rhymes with “transmission” since Jean André Charial, fallen in love with the profession, took up the torch from his grandfather after having worked hand in hand for 15 years… With the benefit of his experience with great chefs (Chapel, the Troisgros brothers, Haeberlin, Bocuse, Girardet…) and his stays abroad (India, Japan…), he and his wife Geneviève Charial have never ceased to develop the know-how and tradition of excellence of the Baumanière house. Faithful to the memory of his founding grandfather, Jean André Charial and his team offer classic Provençal cuisine that combines modernity and the enhancement of the product. Always present in his domain, it is not uncommon to exchange a few words with the owner at lunch or dinner at the Oustau or to see him in the middle of his vegetables in his garden.
It is now Chef Glenn Viel who brings all his creativity and sensitivity to the menu of the Oustau de Baumanière, revisiting the classics of the house and proposing his new creations while respecting the traditions of this gastronomic institution.
